Firmware update of GB127x
=========================

The Flash-up procedure for the firmware update of GB127S or GB127M requires a bootable MS-DOS floppy disk (Version 6.2 or higher) which contains the program INTERSVR.EXE of the same MS-DOS version and the specific flash-up files.

For reasons of copyright we are not allowed to distribute MS-DOS and INTERSVR.EXE via internet. Therefore the user must have a valid MS-DOS licence (version 6.2 or higher) which allows to create the bootable floppy disk.

To create the bootable DOS floppy "GB127 Flash-up Rev x.x" please perform the following steps:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Boot the PC under MS-DOS 6.2x.

2. Insert an empty floppy disk into the floppy disk drive.

3. Enter the command "FORMAT A: /S/U".

4. Copy the file INTERSVR.EXE from the PC to the floppy disk.

5. Reboot the PC under Windows.

6. Load the file "GB127_FU.EXE" from the internet to the harddisk of your PC.

7. Start "GB127_FU.EXE", select "Extract to: floppy disk (A:)" and start extraction. All files required will be copied to the bootable floppy disk and the floppy disk is now ready for use.

The bootable DOS floppy (GB127 Flash-up Rev x.x) is used to carry out the following flash-up procedure:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Switch off the GB127. Connect the special flash-up cable to the LPT1 interface of the GB127.

2. Connect the flash-up cable to the LPT1 interface of the assisting PC.

3. Insert the "GB127 Flash-up Rev x.x" floppy which contains the current firmware release.

4. Switch on the PC and wait for the message window 'MS interlink' to appear.

5. Switch the GB127 on again.

6. The progress of the update is indicated on the display of the GB127.

7. When the update is completed, switch off both units and remove the flash-up cable.

8. Switch the GB127 on again and test it.
